Overview

Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University (IZU) and the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT) offer two PhD scholarships on Far Right and Extremism.

Scholarship will cover tuition fees at IZU and 3000 TL monthly stipend for four years.

Application requirements and required documents

1. Being a Turkish citizen or holding a residence permit in Turkey (passport copy).
2. Undergraduate and/or Master’s degree in Political Science, Public Administration and/or International Relations.
3. Official transcripts that contain all courses taken and grades for each course completed for each degree obtained.
4. English Language proficiency certificate. Minimum 80 points in YDS, YÖKDİL or its equivalency in an international examination recognized by the Turkish Council of Higher Education (YÖK).
5. Graduate Education Entrance Examination score. Minimum 80 points in ALES or its equivalency in an international examination recognized by the Turkish Council of Higher Education (YÖK).
6. Two academic reference letters (from a supervisor/a lecturer who taught you)
7. Statement of purpose (in English, max. 2000 words)
8. Successful candidates will write their PhD thesis on Far Right.
9. Successful candidates will be enrolled in PhD program in Political Science and International Relations (English) at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University.

Applications will be made online via Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University online application website (apply.izu.edu.tr/) The deadline for applications is September 3, 2021. There will be a written exam and interviews on September 8, 2021 at 10.00 am in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University. Successful candidates will be announced on September 13, 2021.
